Promotions, Loyalty & Marketing

ZingaShop includes a set of tools for driving sales: a promotions engine for discounts, coupon codes, gift cards, a loyalty and referral program, and a set of on-site marketing widgets. Together they cover incentives at every stage, from first visit to repeat purchase to advocacy.

Promotions

A promotion is a discount you run on your storefronts. Each promotion has a name, an optional code, a schedule (start and end), a priority, and usage limits (a total cap and a per-customer cap). Promotions can be limited to specific storefronts and customer groups.

The promotions engine supports a range of offer types, including:

Offer Example
Percentage off 15% off, optionally capped at a maximum amount
Fixed amount off $10 off the cart or matching items
Fixed price Set matching items to a specific price
Free shipping Waive shipping on the cart or matching lines
Buy X get Y BOGO and variants, where buying X triggers a discount on Y
Free item Add a free product to the cart
Combo price N items from a category for one fixed price
Spend-and-save tiers Spend $X, get $Y off

Promotions can be set to stop further rules once they apply, and you can group mutually exclusive promotions so they never stack.

Coupons

Coupons are codes customers enter at checkout to unlock a promotion. Each coupon links to a promotion and adds its own controls: single-use or reusable, a total usage cap, a per-customer cap, and its own active date range. You can issue one shared code or many codes tied to the same underlying offer.

Gift cards

Gift cards are stored-value cards your customers buy and redeem. Each card has a code, an initial amount and currency, a running balance, an optional recipient (name and email), a personal message and delivery date, and an expiry. Redemptions draw the balance down and are recorded as transactions, giving you a full ledger per card.

Loyalty and referrals

ZingaShop supports a loyalty program that rewards customers with points:

  • Tiers — bronze, silver, gold and similar levels, reached by points or spend, each with its own earning multiplier and benefits.
  • Earning rules — award points for purchases, signup, birthdays, leaving a review, referrals, and other events.
  • Redemption rules — let customers spend points on a fixed discount, a percentage discount, free shipping, a free product, or store credit.
  • Balances and ledger — each customer has a points balance and current tier, backed by an append-only ledger of every earn, redeem, expire and adjustment.

A built-in referral system gives customers a referral code, tracks who they refer, and rewards both the referrer and the new customer once a qualifying order is placed.

Storefront marketing widgets

You can switch on a set of ready-made marketing widgets per storefront and configure each one. They work with the promotions and loyalty engines to hand out incentives:

Widget What it does
Spin the wheel A gamified pop-up where visitors spin for a discount or gift, capturing their name and contact in exchange
Welcome discount A first-order discount modal for new visitors
Payment-success upsell A countdown upsell shown right after payment to drive an add-on order
Product combos A "frequently bought together" block on the product page
Share & earn A gamified reward for customers who share your store on social media, with proof screenshots you can review and approve
Post-purchase offer A targeted offer shown after checkout

Each widget records impressions, interactions and conversions so you can see how it performs.

Automations

ZingaShop also lets you build automations that react to store events. For example, when an order is placed or paid you can automatically apply a tag or send an email. Automations use a simple condition-and-action builder, so routine follow-ups happen without manual work.

Managing growth features

Promotions, coupons, gift cards, loyalty, marketing widgets and automations are managed in the Zingasuite portal at https://console.zingasuite.com, under Pricing & promotions and (for widgets) under Storefronts. Coupons, gift cards and related objects can also be managed through the public API, described in the Developer API Reference chapter.
