AI Test Generation
AI Test Generation
Zingalify can draft a whole test for you with AI. You describe what you want; the generator produces a structured test in the same format you would author by hand, ready for you to review, refine, and publish. AI generation runs from the AI → Generate Test area of the Zingasuite console.
Two stages: outline, then questions
Generation happens in two stages so you stay in control of the result:
- Outline — from your brief (topic, kind, target length, difficulty mix, language, and any constraints), the AI proposes a structure: the sections, what each covers, and how many questions of which types belong where.
- Questions — once you are happy with the outline, the AI fills it in, writing the actual questions, options, and answer keys to match.
Splitting the work in two lets you correct the shape of the test before any questions are written, rather than regenerating everything at once.
Beyond generating a new test, AI can also help you expand an existing test with more questions, translate a test into another language, and improve existing questions.
Paid in AI credits
AI generation is paid from your organisation's shared AI credit pool — the same balance used across your Zingasuite apps. Credits are reserved when a job starts and charged when it completes; you can view your balance, ledger, and top up from the AI Credits page. Because generation runs in the background, you can queue a job and come back to it.
Validated like any other content
Everything the AI produces is checked by the same validator that runs on tests you import or write by hand. There is no separate, looser path for AI content: a generated question must satisfy the same structural rules — valid question types, well-formed options, a usable answer key — before it can enter your library. Validation results are recorded with the job so you can see exactly what passed and what needs attention.
Per-question lineage
Every AI-generated question keeps a record of where it came from — which generation job produced it and from what prompt. This lineage stays attached to the question, so at any point you can tell which questions were written by AI and which by a person, and trace a question back to the request that created it. This is valuable for audits, quality reviews, and refining your prompts over time.
Never published automatically
AI generation never publishes a test on its own. Generated questions land as a draft and, by default, are routed to your item review queue for a person to approve, edit, or reject before they can be used in a live test. You decide what to keep, what to rewrite, and when to publish.
This human-in-the-loop step is deliberate:
- You confirm each question is accurate, fair, and appropriate for your audience.
- You can adjust wording, points, and difficulty.
- Only content you have approved and published reaches candidates.
A typical workflow
- Write a short brief and generate an outline.
- Review and tweak the outline structure.
- Generate the questions.
- Work through the review queue, approving and editing as you go.
- Fold the approved questions into your test, then publish a version.
