ZingaConnect Overview

ZingaConnect Overview

ZingaConnect is the CRM and omni-channel messaging app in Zingasuite. It brings your contacts, their consent, and every conversation you have with them over Email, SMS, and WhatsApp into one place, then lets you reach them with templates, automated campaigns, and a shared team inbox.

You work in ZingaConnect from the tenant portal at https://console.zingasuite.com.

What ZingaConnect is for

ZingaConnect answers three questions for every person you do business with:

  • Who are they? One canonical contact record per person, with name, email, phone, WhatsApp number, company, and location.
  • May we message them? Per-channel marketing consent and per-channel suppression, so you never message someone who opted out.
  • What have we said to them? A cross-channel timeline of every message sent and received.

Shared identity with ZingaShop

Your ZingaShop customers and your ZingaConnect contacts are frequently the same people. Rather than keeping two disconnected address books, ZingaConnect and ZingaShop share a single contact identity for each person in your account. This has real, practical consequences:

  • A shopper who buys on your storefront already exists as a contact you can market to (subject to their consent).
  • Consent and suppression are unified. If someone unsubscribes on your storefront, that opt-out also stops your ZingaConnect sequences, and vice versa.
  • Contact tags are shared across both apps, so a segment you build in one app is meaningful in the other.

Identity, consent, and suppression live once, on the shared contact. App-specific details (a shopper's order history, a contact's CRM lifecycle stage and owner) attach to that same person without duplicating their core details.

How the rest of this chapter is organised

The following pages cover each area in detail:

  • Contacts, Tags & Lists — building and segmenting your audience.
  • Channels — connecting your Email, SMS, and WhatsApp providers.
  • Message Templates — authoring reusable content.
  • Campaigns — the three campaign types and how sending works.
  • WhatsApp Inbox — two-way messaging and in-chat commerce.
  • Importing Contacts — bringing an existing list into ZingaConnect.
  • Message Tracking & Reports — measuring what happened.

Programmatic access

Everything you do in the portal is also available over ZingaConnect's public messaging API, authenticated with an API key carrying messaging:* scopes. External systems can send messages through ZingaConnect and subscribe to inbound and status events. See the Developer API Reference chapter for the endpoints; this chapter focuses on using ZingaConnect in the portal.
